How to stake a Paph

hmm well I have few more buds coming so I get to practice some this stuff..Does seem a shame after the fact to have a wonderful looking bloom you cant see ..got to hold it up and its photo resistant too

heh put the plant in the window the last few days bec the little bud on top is growing so fast found a bud starting up on the current new growth. Felt like they needed more light and the sun seems to have picked the flower up for me too!! good ole mr sun



the seed pod/ovary has lifted some and no longer at a 90' angle to the flower...

On my few paph flowers recently I've staked they only loosely and at least 1 1/2 inches below the base of the ovary. I've used a loose loop of wire rather than clips to tie it to the stake so that it can move against the wire if it needs to (I do the same with phals). I kept the tie low so that the top portion could take it's own shape/curve. I also put light behind the flower as it was opening.

All four flowers I have had recently have lifted up well and not dropped.

What an interesting thread. Thanks guys. Anyone have a picture of the wire hanger/bike spoke method? I'm having trouble picturing how it all works - but I'm fascinated and I have a paph that's throwing a spike right now, so the info is really timely.
