Default paph brother Vini has bud

I got this one in april from hausermanns in spike..took about a month or so to open up..

Been taking pretty good care of him. I started a few months ago putting all my paphs into the Cold Room at night for the 10-15 degree drop in temp.

did the Fat Fan test and yup its lumpy and following the form of the other 2 spikes..2 leaves and then SPIKE

This is one of about 4 paphs I have that are budding now They like RJS Paph Mix tooo!!!

the flower is so dark the spike sheaths are striped in VINI Burgundy

so we see in a few months if I was right and it is a bud and bloom

Cool, it's a gorgeous looking one. Must be really exciting to have lot of Paphs budding/spiking. I have a bulldog type with three buds (on two spikes) just now but it's been well over 2 months I've been waiting for them

exciting for me to see roots before all this and indeed its fun and we been waiting to see them blooms now for some time, they do seem to take awhile from discovery to fulfillment...and yup I know you look everyday

PS have a churchill/thunderhead paph I now think might have multiple blooms on it since I did the Fat vs Flat test...it had 5 fans and the middle one finally gave out so i clipped it off bec it had given itself back and was gone..so sad..but a few weeks later the new growths all started new leaves and they are fat fans now, all but one which is flat not fat...I dunno but Im gonna check everyday

almost 3 months to the day from discovery to just about open

1 of 25 blooms for december .. And why I love these paphs. No muss no fuss no blankets no superheaters needed..just water a little food and some well timed attention..
