They do tend to be quite thin at that point anyway. Maybe that bud at the back is causing it to need more room.

I have one with a bud to the side of the flower which is pushing it sideways and stopping one of the petals opening. I used some very gentle manipulation to get it to sit how I wanted but it was really risky and I feared I will damage the flower and/or the bud.

The ovaries on Paphs are very flexible until the flwers have been open a few days. It's best to avoid staking until then. The "forward nod" your plant has is a typical response to early staking. Beautiful bloom - a really nice quality flower!

ahh I did stake it before it started to firm up indeed..it was my 1st staking at inception so I am learning

I had thought that the stake would have held it up. but I see that staking has caused it to lean forward after the fact...I try again on the budling I get 2 shots at this one

I learned it when I was showing lots of paphs. It made life A LOT easier, as you can imagine!

Default 2nd bloom opening and 2nd spike emerging :)

...The plant goes on and on like this thread..its such a wonderful plant I hope you all dont mind me sharing so much of it

had to help the mini bud some as its such a thin capsule attached...

I'm real hopeful I get 2 blooms to see ..The one on top looks like its going to be smaller but these blooms have a way of stretching out and are surprising to say the least...
