hhhmmmm.... don't be so sure ruffles appear ver yoften after the flower is open... at least, that's the case in my fairrianum! and in several "ruffled" or "twisted" Paph flowers I have seen...

Now my Paph Pinocchio would be open withn a few hours of getting to that stage, my Maudiae (which I think yours is more like) took 4 days to open from that stage... it seemed to take forever by comparison
you know I got the bulldog and this one at the same time and about the same budding date.The bulldog been blooming for months now...BUT the bulldog is mostly white. I'm thinking that colors like this one has take longer to build up and display than white. So if your bulldog is complex and colorful could take some time..only thing I can think of given all else is equal..but isnt it fun watching them like they are being Born
