Default Paphiopedilum Maudiae - my very first Paph rebloom

This is Paphiopedilum Maudiae and is my first ever Paph rebloom.

OK my Pinocchio keeps getting new flowers on the same spike it had when I bought it... but this is my first that's gone right from a new fan through to a new spike through to a flower

The spike/bud started on quite a small fan and grew reasonably quickly. Then when the bud started opening it seemed to start then just creep slowly slowly open. This is very unlike the buds on Pinocchio which once they start seem to open very quickly. It probably took 5-6 days between the first sign of opening and being fully open even then I think the flag is still lifting more.

I'm so pleased with this. It sits on the center of my windowledge (with non-flowering phals either side) where I can see if from my home PC. It looks so great standing tall amougst the phals

Thanks RJ. I really like the overall shape of this one.

Oh yeah... and arround the time the bud started a new fan also started, so it really does seem to be a happy plant
