I let some of my paphs dry out, maybe too much?:
I have them in a tray that is filled with hydroton [clay balls] for drainage- it is plumbed so the tray empties but there is a little water [1cm? maybe] at the bottom.
Most pots sit on top, some I pushed down into the hydroton a little. Most are in bark with hydroton mixes, two are totally in hydroton [one sitting in a dish of water].
The hydroton wicks it up and I have two paphs that actually put a root out of the bottom of the pot, I think reaching down for the moisture in the hydroton?
They are healthy I think, have good hard white furry roots, and growing but should I water more... or do I need bigger pots?
If I leave them as they are now, I'm worried the roots will continue to grow right through the bottoms of the pots into the hydroton, I won't be able to move them out and eventually they will grow into one tangled root mass.
I can post photos if that helps
