Lime - for sure!
Absolutely! RJSquirrel is right on with this. A little horticultural lime (AKA: crushed limestone, dolomitic lime, 60/40 Calcium Carbonate and Magnesium Carbonate) is really nice either added to the mix when potting or as a topdressing. I would stress "a little." (I know that's not terribly scientific - maybe a teaspoonfull sprinkled on the surface of a 4 1/2" pot). There is a pelletized form which can be used as a topdressing - it lasts longer. This can be done 2-4 times a year. If you are repotting annually, you won't get any buildup of sludge in the pot.
