I hated to pull it out of the pot knowing its got a bud,but better to pull it out now and have a look than to find a little fried bud later bec he dried out from a bad root system

RJS paph mix is good stuff

...remember I have hard time with everything else so paphs are becoming my choise by default and ya know as well, nothin like watchin a baby paph bud grow up..

I really love my Paphs and think I'm going to have to get some more now I've started having blooming success with them.

Default darn it maybe next time

I let water sit in the bud crevice and didnt know it. it rotted my little bud out..maybe next time. I told my 6 yr old niece I was unhappy today bec my bud died and she told me "and you dont have any freinds".....told me I guess she did...I have to be more careful watering these plants with small buds in them. You cant let water sit in the crowns and we all know that..I just didnt see it..

yeah and it was my 1st home made spike and bud too .
I knew better to let water sit in that crevice with the bud and like I said I just didnt see it..one drawback to getting old ,the eyes just dont have the focus they once did and I really have to look at these plants not just wiggle em around on occasion...I have about 100 total orchids "still" and thats right on the edge of being manageable for 1 person...I knew there was a limit to what 1 can do and thats about it for me

you are right about the limit, but it's a matter of finding the more efficient ways of managing them, to allow you to move up to the next limit.

I have 56 and was managing them easily in the spring. Then I changed my way of working and I'm now struggling to keep up with them. I'm now trying to find a method which has the speed of the first method with the care and attention of the second. Not sure I've found it yet

I know that those who have lots have said before about having ways of managing them. I can actually manage more when they are in the greenhouse and I'm finding it difficult now they have come in... the reason being that in the greenhouse I can just empty the watering pots on the floor so each one doesn't need carying to the sink to water it.

I want more... so I' will find a way
