My new Paph Pinocchio - Another of my purchases from Tatton Park
This has been on my wish list for a long long time and yesterday I spotted this one for sale at the Tatton Park Orchid Show.
It looks like it had a previous flower on the stem, and there is this open flower and a bud which has actually started to open today (pics taken yesterday). It also looks like it may be able to form at least one more bud on this spike but I've not had a sequential Paph before, can any of you experts tell from the pic.
The fan that is flowering seems large, and there is a smaller fan developing.

Looks nice, Rosie. I've never had Pinocchio but from what I remember reading, they will keep on blooming for a very long time.

Nice Rosie! I'm not an expert but it may be another bud - and as that one gets going, there may be another.

Thanks
I'm hoping there is another bud, it sort of looks up close like there may be the start of a tiny bud and then beside that something that may be where the spike will continue on from. I'm not sure though, I really hope so.
I find the flowers quite mesmerising

Very nice Rosie I love Pinocchio and it was on my wishlist a long long time. I finally got one last fall but never got to see it bloom and never will since it was in the box I sent you...

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that Camille, I had forgotten what was on your list
Thanks Sue, it does seem to be a quite large strong plant. It's much bigger than my other mottled leaf paphs.

Rosie this one will still be blooming from the same spike next year if you let it. Of course the spike will become a long rambly affair that stretches clear across the room! It will drop the current flower soon after the next one opens. Mine has been in bloom on double spikes since December and shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.

Thanks Terri,
The new bud has opened a bit further today. It makes me remember the pictures BikerDoc once showed that looked like an alien head but was actually a Pinocchio bud.

The second flower has now opened on this. I was hoping to get some pics with two flowers before the first dropped but I left it a bit long and it dropped yesterday. Maybe with the next one (looks like it's developing another bud).
Anyway I though I would add a couple of nice shots of the second flower.
