This plant was given to me as a gift from my former teacher and friend. I am surprised it bloomed.
I do not know much about taking pictures of orchids. Was it good that I included the two dark eye-looking things in this picture, or would it have been better to leave those of the picture altogether?
I can't tell if the flower is staked up or not. Staking the flower and attaching it just below the ovary (upper fat portion of the spike) makes it much easier to take a picture because usually all the background busy stuff can be eliminated. Then try to find a dark background and place your flower about 3 or 4 feet from this background. The attached picture is just an example.
The picture you have is wonderful and the flower is a beauty....
