This guy was sold to me on eBay. It was labelled Paph 'Mad Max I' x Insigne ‘Sanderae’ and Paph Mad Max I doesn't exist, so I think something got missing from the label and Mad Max I was a clonal name.
I am suspecting that it is Paph sukhakulii x insigne var Sanderae which is registered as Paph Tatonka, but it may be something else.
Feel free to suggest an ID
Just searching the orchid registry and these crosses were also made but they are a century older than sukhakulii x insigne in 1989...
argus x insigne 1892
callosum x insigne 1893
ciliolare x insigne 1892
The base of my plant has some purple spotting. sukhakulii has no purple base according to Cribb and insigne var sanderae has no purple base according to Mahon....
I think I have analyzed my plant too much now...doh!
....time to look for all the mottle-leaved hybrids crossed with insigne

Somehow I don't think sukhakulii is in the background...the heavy spotting influence of a primary sukhakulii hybrid is not evident. Regardless, it is a pretty paph!
