Going Paph Crazy.....uh oh!!!!!
I love Christmas.....what an opportunity to buy some chids!!! I just went Paph crazy and bought 5 rather amazing multis. They are:
Paph rothschildianum ('Borneo Dark' x 'Dark Chocolate'
Paph kolopakingii var topperi 'Jamboree' x self
Paph primulinum var album ('Albino Beauty' x 'Full Moon')
Paph sanderianum sib cross (YAY!!!!!!!!)
Paph Bel Royal (kolopakingii var topperi 'Jamboree' x rothschildianum 'New Dimension')
The roth is going to be DARK, the kolo GIGANTIC, the prim AMAZING, the sanderianum BEAUTIFUL (if it ever blooms/survives long enough to bloom) and the Bel Royal HUGE!
So what do you think everyone? Enough or do I need more???

Did you order these online, or did you actually pick them up at a store? If the latter, where are the pics, please!
Rothschildianum, kolokapingii, sanderianum, and dayanum are all on my wish list...

I think that you got great species and the Bell Royal a great primary and I do understand why only 5. These species specially the sanderianum and rothschildianum are on the pricey side of the paph spectrum. I don't blame you; by the way what's the sanderianum cross??

Chris, I made two orders to Orchids by Hausermann and Orchid Inn USA. They won't be blooming for awhile, but they were fairly affordable so I'd say that $40 for a vigorous sanderianum seedling is pretty good!
Joann, I like your line of thinking! Why only five? Because I couldn't afford ten!!!!!!
Rolando, thanks for your encouragement. I'm rather new to paphs (~2 months?) but have the perfect conditions for multis--my favorites. And although they're expensive, you can find relatively great buys with tons of quality--Hausermanns and Orchid Inn have awesome stuff of great prices. The sanderianum is a sib cross that they choose, but I asked for one that would have darker blooms, and Sam obliged....I can't wait!!!! Oh and Bel Royal will always be special because it's the very plant that got me into multiflorals!!!!!
Etex, I will get pics up asap! They are all seedlings but I don't think I'll be waiting 10 years for them to bloom....more like 5.
And ted, I'm planning to put up a greenhouse sooner or later....it better be sooner once these decide to go nuts and grow like crazy!!!!
Thanks all!
David

Oooh I'm jealous!
But I agree- too few! They're cheaper than gambling, right?
