oh wow, i didn't realize many species were so easy to grow. I guess I just assumed hybrids were easier....

In any case, I'm glad to have one paph that won't be 2 ft ls! Whenever my multies from Orchid Inn come in, I'm gonna be short on space....

I agree with Joe, species aren't hard to grow. My very first slipper was Paph. delenatii. It blooms every winter like clockwork. I'd say 80% of all my Paphs are species and all but 2 have bloomed. The only reason those 2 haven't bloomed yet is they are still just babies.

Terri, that's really encouraging. I hope I can do as well; I ordered seedlings of Paph roth, kolo, sanderianum, primulinum, and Bel Royal. I'm a little worried about the sanderianum, but I think the rest will be ok as long as I don't do anything terribly stupid. Still waiting for them to come in......GAH I hate the winter cold!!!

This guy is still looking good. Watering about every 5-7 days and just leaving it more or less alone. I'll fertilize soon, but that's about all. What could be easier? And I had someone tell me that orchids were so "finicky" today!!! yeah right.
