They're all lovely. I really like that wardii! It's leaves are nearly as gorgeous as it's bloom!

hehe, that's based on a long discussion in the Slipper's forum, where some of the Paph experts were involved. Apparently, the line of Paph primulinum was messed up quite long ago with some "improved" primulinum coming from Taiwan, which apparently were not such but some back crosses... These improved primulinum wereso atractive (according to AOS standards) that they were used further in line breeding and the "old" (real) primulinum were neglected and discarded (smaller flowers, less attractive yellow/green colors, etc).
The believe is that apparently most of the Paph primulinum currently in the market (USA & Europe) are not the pure species. The guys from OL were also involved in the discussion, and were also surprised to learn this.
In my plant, the leave are just too large to be the true primulinum (according to that discussion!), and the lack of fragrant is also another hint of being something different.
I have seen some other plants of this cross and of a "sister" cross (C.H. #1 x C.H. #2), and teh variation is pretty large. Some plants looking almost like Paph. Avalon Mist or Paph Pinocchio.
Whatever, for me, in this case, what is on the label is how I will continue calling this plant...

indeed, but apparently not an isolated case... They also discussed the case of improved Paph. spicerianum, which seems to be a similar situation....

Ramon - your plants are beautiful but so is the way you have displayed them and caught them so well in your outstanding photos! Congratulations - well done!

All are neat, but my fav is the bellatulum. Your primulinum looks like have the parents to Pinocchio (primulinum x glaucophyllum) to me!

Very nice plants and flowers. My priority goes for your paphiopedilum wardii, but it is personal because they are all very nice. And I see that you use very pretty potteries what is emphasizing your plants.

I love the pot your wardii is in! It complements the plant so well! The leaves are amazing too! Heck! I love the whole thing! (no seriously...excellent pot choice!)

I second on that! I did not realize that my little plant would create such a looooooooooong discussion. My poor primulinum has really p/o now. Its second bloom is now deformed.
