Default Paph venustum - First Flowering

Well hopefully it will bloom soon, it is painfully slow like many paphs between the first sign of a sheath until you actually see a bloom. First venustum I've bloomed and I'm hoping it opens for the AOC conference being held in a couple of weeks.

The excitement is building!!!

What do you think of the leaf colour? Does it look like it's receiving the correct amount of light???

Thanks

Looks like a nice, healthy, well grown plant.

That bud looks fat !!! And the mottled leaves are just gorgeous. I've got a couple of mottled leaves myself but they are a bit darker. What amout of light are you giving them??? I keep them with my Phals.

I have it under 70% beige coloured shade cloth during winter so far. They say that's the equivalent of 45% to 50% shade from green shade cloth.

Not sure if that's right, spring starts next week so I guess now would be a good time to add shade. I grow mind with Masdevallias. I just worry if I put too much shade in winter they may not get enough light to flower. But it's hard to tell until I actually add it I guess and see how things develop from there.
