Paph Charlsworthii
Tony, this is your chance to shine! What say you on the worth of this little guy? I've already stated my growing terms (intermediate, dry to humid, anything worth doing is worth doing right!) I saw one in bloom and fell in love (orchid-wise )

Yes you should get a charlesworthii! I love their dorsal sepal. They aren't tough growers and intermediate conditions should be fine. And they are also compact plants too I think everyone should have one in their paph collection

Yeah, I fell in love with them. I currently have nearly 30. Most are little seedlings I got as a compot from Orchid Inn that were from a 50% alba cross. Three of them are albas!
I also have 2 or three others. This is the flower from one I got from Orchids of Los Osos. I am hoping it is a little wonky from the shipping.
If anyone is interested I can post a pic of the difference between normal and alba plants.

OOh beautiful, Steven. I've just added a second one, we don't want the first one to be unhappy do we?!
Love to have an alba someday too.
I got my little seedling in Clay pot with peatmoss & coarse rok. My tempts flex from 65 to 72 during most of the year. Summer however is different and kept very humid and hot. She already has a new fan comming up, I'm surprised since she is so small.
I agree everybody should have one, such a charming orchid, easy to grow (IMHO)

I thought you might like to see what the difference is between a normal and an alba seedling. I have learned that charlesworthii is the only paph, and maybe the only orchid, that you can determine this at such a young age.
What happens is normal charles. develope their typical spotting while albas do not.
Pretty cool, eh? Sure made MY job easier while I was potting out the compot!

One of the seedlings in the compot was nothing more than two leaves and a little brown spot that joined the two.
I lost one of the leaves a couple of weeks ago. I checked it out tonight and the lone remaining leaf is still quite green and turgid.
Guess what else! I think I see what appears to be a NEW leaf forming at the brown spot at the bottom and MAYBE a new root! Happy Happy Joy Joy
I also think it is an alba, but too soon to tell. Even if not it would be cool to take such a premie and help it survive.
