A favorite of mine, classified under Section
Coryopedilum.
This species is native to Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea, from 5,000m to 6,000m elevation. This species is also part of a sectional complex, but distribution and some morphological characteristics can seperate the species apart.
Paph. wilhelminiae has also been known as
Paph. gardineri. Because there is lack of information and material on
Paph. gardineri, it is hard to say that this taxon exists, or that it is a nomenclatural synonym of
Paph. wilhelminiae. I personally keep the two epithets seperate, and consider
Paph. gardineri to not even exist.
