I agree, it would help if you can let us know the specific paph you have. Some can bloom with 4 inch LS tip to tip on a single matured growth, while some multiflorals will not bloom until they reach 2 ft LS AND multiple growths!
Regardless of leaf size, unless its a big multifloral - which, as Jorch says, may need multiple growths before being 'flowering size' - a general rule of thumb is that once a Paph starts to make multiple growths it should be able to flower.
Thanks everyone. Its my 1st paph and she is a NOID cause i saved her. Paphs are my absolute fave but in my area are very hard to get so i have 1st time paph jitters.
Oooohh reeeaaaalllly?? I think my baby is getting ready. Thats something i did notice the other day. All her new leaves are matured and base is starting to get fat and firm
True, but when i repotted it i inspected the plant for root rot and i didnt see any area that looked cut. When they are divided do the have to be cut from the old growth the way an Oncidium would need to be? The new growth has a thicker base that the old growth which DID have a dead flower spike when i got it. I would make the assumption that the new growth would need to be as big or bigger than the old growth in order to flower. Now its just a question of lighting.
