Hi... As you can see in this picture, Paphs. come in all different sizes, some get very large and some just stay small, and I can't find one that I didn't love. Jim.
The older growth on the plant is about the same size as the new growth (same plant). I just wanna confirm that when you say some bloom when small and some bloom when larger... are you talking about the same plant? Or do you mean different species?

Different species. Usually Paph fans get slightly larger over time, not smaller. But not all species have the same sized fans. Does this help? Also see my picture for clearification.
Ok, thanks Ross. I seem to be doing well i think. The new growth certainly is not smaller and is still growing. I would just be devastated if i managed to kill her before i got to see her bloom. When i was tree planting last summer I came across some wild slippers, i believe they were Cypripedium acaule. They were out in the open with absolutely no tree cover or shade of any sort. Is it common for paph to grow with such intense light? I almost perished in the midday sun lol, how do they make it?
