My first slipper !!!!! Paph. Gina Short
everyone !!!!
I'm so excited to finally have one of these orchids in my collection, yet I'm extremely terrified since I have no clues as to how to care for it. Anyways here are some of my new beauty.

Hi Rolando,
Congrats to you on your first slipper! It is very beautiful...I love the coloration on this one.
I grow my paphs under my Vandas where they are sure to get water every day and plenty of dappled sunlight. When they are blooming I pull them out so the blooms don't get wasted by teh overhead watering. I also make sure that they have ample air movement, which they do with the large fan running in my shade house.
For potting medium I use a seedling mix comprised of dyna-rock, charcoal and coconut husk in small pieces (I get this from Broward Orchid Supply). I top dress the medium with crushed oyster shell for added calcium, and also use dynamite fertilizer pellets as a supplement to the little bit of fertilizer they get whenever I fertilize my Vandas, which is once a week, year round.
I hope this helps.

Love the pink Paphs. Beautiful choice Rolando.
I have only 2 Paphs in my collection and one thing is definite, they hate Florida weather in summer. Even the ones that are more heat tolerant, doesn't mean, Fla. heat. I keep mine a little wetter than the Phals but give them Phal light and they benefit greatly by good air circulation.
Enjoy. Yours is a keeper!

Gina Short is one I have wanted for a long time. Every time I have ordered one, sorry we are out of Gina Short. I love the color and the shape.

Thank you all for your kind comments and suggestions. This was the bonus plant on yesterdays raffle and as soon as I saw it I new I wanted it. Luckily enough I was the winner. Yesterday I won this plant and a Dend. oligophyllum is bud.

Very pretty Rolando! I like pink Paphs too. Now that you have one there are many more to follow I guarantee!
Glad to see you posting again. Carol (quiltingwacko) and I were wondering what happened to you.
