I have one. It's no where near blooming size, but I still love it. I just treat it like any other Paph. I try not to let it get too dry, although, I wasn't exactly diligent in my watering regimen this summer so all my plants got drier than they should have. It did fine. I fertilize weakly weekly, and I grow it on a humidity tray in a Southeast facing window. I also mist it every morning before I go to work. That's really about at technical as I get. I do try to keep this one out of a lot of harsh sun so that the leaves don't burn.

It seems to be more slow growing than my other Paphs, so I think its going to be a while before mine is blooming size. But that's fine with me. One of my favorite things about this plant is the foliage. Its gorgeous without blooms! But maybe I'm a weirdo.

Wow, thanks for the tips!
The friend that I got it from kept it under an overturned glass cylinder thing (I have no idea what it would be called), and I'm a bit afraid that it won't have enough humidity in my house. So I should start spraying it!

And you're not crazy, the foliage is gorgeous! It actually SPARKLES. Amazing :P

You're welcome. It sounds like your friend was keeping it under a bell jar. It might have to adjust to being uncovered, but that shouldn't be too bad.

You're right about the foliage sparkling, and it's textured, I like touching it.

I have no idea where to buy them. My mom bought one years ago at an antique store, so maybe you could find one on ebay.

Yes, I checked ebay, but shipping to Canada is astronomical!

They truly are gorgeous! And surprisingly difficult to get a hold of, too!

I recommend as soon as you see one for sale, grab it! Another opportunity may not arise for quite a while.

WOW!

I didn't know paph micranthum was so expensive!!

I better start taking better care of mine.

What exactly is blooming sized with this plant? mine is almost five inches across and starting a new growth but it doesn't seem to do much else. I have found it to be quite intolerant of dryness, i have it planted in moss inside of a two inch by four inch tall pot. Is it normal for new growths to be produced a distance from the parent plant?

Hi there!

I'm not sure what the exact blooming size is, but all the photos I've seen of the plant when in bloom look like the plant is quite small in relation to the blossom.

The friend who gave me this Micranthum has a bunch in a pot, and the new growths are long enough that they're hanging over the side of the pot...so I would say that it is normal
