This is not the best flower or flowering I have had from this plant. The flower and mostly the dorsal is a lot smaller than usual for some reason bit I like the sheen the flower has this time.

Nice pink on the petals! It's quite intense for this type of lower.

Thanks for sharing.

Roy,

I am awestruck by this beauty! I really appreciate your post.

Do you remember where you got this guy? I am hoping they do international shipping. I feel the need...not a want, but a need...to have one of these in my collection.

I bought the plant on eBay. The owner brought the plant back from Asia.

Nice flower. I though var. esquirolei has a darker maroon on the dosal. Do you grow this a little warmer than regular hirsutisismum??? My hirsutisismum send out the bud during summer, and the bud blasted in the heat.

This plant is in warmth and the petal color is brighter this year also the flower is more brown but as I think the extra color is from this flowering only, I hope. The size and shape isn't as good this year either. The dorsal color can be misleading also.

Roy! That is a beauty

Wonderlen, I don't know if this is the case with yours but ... I've had a few paphs go into premature bud, becuz of the strange warm, cool and wet summer this year. They seemed abit confused. Anyways like yours, they blasted.
I also don't give any ferts when the buds show, just use plain water and keep them nice & moist.
