bloom season for paph. luther pass and bloom season for paph. hainawense . paph. wolt

I obtained a blooming size paph. luther pass back in the spring; it appears to be growing well, it has since grown two offsets and has been getting new leaves on the older plant. Right now it has a leaf that has just emerged and it looks as if another is on the way, or could this be a potential bloom? Also I have a paph. hainasense x pahp. wolterianum; it is doing the same as well. I keep them both together; they get good early morning sun until around noon (they sit in front of 2 french doors on east side of house) day temps are probably around mid 70's with night temps around 70 or a little lower. Can anyone tell me when these may bloom? Thanx

I'm assuming your tag is wrong, I think Paph. hainawense is actually Paph. hainanensis....which is now known as Paph. appletonianum. If this is the case, appletonianum blooms in the spring and winter.IOSPE PHOTOS Paph. wolterianum has also been re-classified as Paph. appletonianum. So it appears that your hybrid is actually species: Paph. appletonianum. So it should bloom in the spring and winter.
Paph. Luther Pass is a result of many generations of hybridizing, so it's anyone's guess when it will bloom. Hopefully, someone here will chime in that owns one....that will be your best bet.

if you see a leaf usually about half grown then another leaf emerging at the sametime often it is the start of a spike, the species are usually pretty accurate in blooming time so it may be a few moe months before you get a bloom from it, if it is in spike. The hybrid is most likely going to be free blooming so it can spike in any season then bloom ina any other season so you may get a spike that takes four or more months to finally open a bloom, they sound happy though so keep doing whatever you are to them and you will eventually get a flower.

I don't know if this will be any help or not, but I saw a Luther Pass offered on ebay this evening and it is in "sheath". So maybe it's the season.

I was checking the paph appletonium and wanted to ask if you knew if the leaves were mottled or not...mine are mottled and to my surprise it is getting a new life, as well as what appears to be a bud (they are both coming out at the same time, any other time a leaf would appear and then another, but that's not the case now) The ID marker says 7210 Paph. hainawense x Paph. wolterianum. Do you have a pic of the leaves of a appletonium? If you do would you post it? Thanks, Eddie...

I do not have Paph. appletonium, I have a primary hybrid from it, and those leaves are mottled. Here's a pic I found of one, and it has mottled leaves.http://www.dalatrose.com/forum/image...4200595557.JPG

Thanks for the pic jasen...looks similar to the one I have, only the leaves on your pic are a bit darker..
