New Paph. NoID (pic)

I got this at the Platinum Coast Orchid Show last weekend in Cocoa, FL. My boyfriend picked this one out, as it was one of the few orchids there that wasn't "frilly & girly" according to him. Haha.

It came with a tag, but I can't remember what it says, so it's a NoID for the moment!

Thanks Chubidubi! Wow, growing orchids in Puerto Rico must be awesome My boyfriend is Puerto Rican, he used to live there. He's planning on taking me there sometime, I can't wait! He talks about El Yunque all the time!

It's a great place to live and especially grow orchids. El Yunque is awesome. You have to go there when you visit.

Yes EL Yunque is absolutely gorgeous. I love the shape of your paph. The dorsal is so round and full. and the color is actually pink and not just a reddish violet.

Unless you find the tag I doubt that you'll be able to get a final name. It is derived from Paph. Maudiae "coloratum" wih various infusions of Paph. sukhakulii. The problem is that there are dozens of similar hybrids (like Paph. Macabre) and they have been a mainstay of pot-plant paphs in southern California for many years. The reason why is obvious from your pictures. They are easy to grow and perfect for the home - a rather vigorous line of breeding all around.
