paph taking over a year to bloom

i bought this plant over a year ago. it was in bloom when i bought it and had another growth besides the blooming one.
now that growth is huge compared to the one that already bloomed and has a new growth coming off the side of it but it stil hasn't bloomed at all.
am i being impatient?

Hi Dr, You might be - sometimes paphs can skip a year even more before reblooming.
What are you doing as far as the lights and tempts go?
What about fertilisers?

i fertilize with 20-20-20 every other week. water every 3-4 days. it is on a window sill in my living room where it recieves a lot of indirect light. there is a large factory across the street that blocks any direct sun but it is still a bright window.

In my experience, particularly if the plant is young, it doesn't pay to leave the blooms on too long. It seems to really set the plant back and it may take two or three years before it will bloom again. Another possibility is if the plant is overpotted -- the energy will go to root growth rather than bloom. Just my

My Paph. Macabre took a few months over a year to rebloom again.....I bought it with one growth and it has two or three new growths now. I had the same problem, new growths, but no new blooms. I mentioned this to the seller since he was local and he told me it was getting to much light.....he was right! I lowered it a level in my orchidarium and now a few months it is getting ready to open a bud! I am no expert, but perhaps yours is getting to much light?

This is a question for Becca....
Where is your phap located in your orchidarium middle or bottom shelf? I had mine in my orchidarium on the lowest shelf and I removed it to a lower shelf on my shelving unit right next to the orchidarium. Its putting out a new growth and what looks like a "nubin". Should I put it back in the orchidarium?

Hi Sheridan! I had it on the middle shelf and moved it to the lowest shelf....the lowest shelf is supported by four plastic "legs" I guess you would call it that are about 6 inches tall and came with the orchidarium. I have tried measuring foot candles for the lighting, and I am sure most would say my paph isn't getting enough lighting, but my 'chids tell me differently.

here are some pictures of the orchid recently.
the first one is of the growth that should bloom
the second one is the growth that already bloomed. you can see how much larger the unbloomed one is in the background.
the third picture is of the growth on the side onf the unbloomed growth.
while taking this outside to take pics, i also noticed another extremely small growth between the 2 large ones.
i think the plant looks very healthy. any thoughts?
