Paphiopedilum Primary Hybrid in bloom

Hi everybody I promised to post Pictures of my Kolopakingii x Moquettianum when it finally bloomed. As before I am searching for any sources from which to purchase plants containing Kolopakingii as a parent. Can anybody help? I have found a few sites but they only offer small seedlings (5-8 inch leaf span) at very high prices ($50-$150). Does anybody know of any reasonably priced sources where I may find them?

The plant has a Thirty inch plus leaf span, The petals are four inches long and the dorsal is about an inch and a half. The distance from tip to tip is about six inches. Kolopakingii is a simultaneous multifloral while Moquettianum is a sequential bloomer. This plant will be sequential but have the ability to produce up to ten flowers and hold up to four at any one time.

Hey, thanks for posting these pics, I have 3 seedlings of this cross ( only reverse ) and wondered what they may look like. Can't wait now.

It's beautiful. I especially like the last photo. Whatever you used for the backdrop adds a lot of interest to the pic.

Really like the first photo, the darker background really brings out the colors in the dorsal and pouch.

Have you tried Sam Tsui at Orchid Inn. In a March email list from him he did not have any flasks, but did have some seedlings of kolopakingii. The list with kolopakingii's is attached.

The backdrop in the darker pictures is a piece of weed block fabric. That piece was left over when I used it earlier this year as a shade fabric and wind block for my outside orchids until they were adjusted to the conditions.

The seedlings you have may take on more of the Moquettianum in overall plant size as well as the flower stalks. Your seedlings may hold one to three flowers at a time and the twisting in the petals will be very faint. Your flowers will most likely take on the strong color traits from the Moquettianum but will still reach twentyfive plus inches in leafspan before they even consider thinking about putting out an inflorence. This plant is actually quite small to be blooming now, a freind has the same cross but it has a 40 inch span and is still putting out leaves.
