Excellent macro shots, sturdy hand? or tripod?

Hand held....I do use a tripod for the closer work...but then if there is enough light, and the shutter speed is 125/250, then hand-held gets rid of the motion...but then you knew that, didn't you...

Actually no I don't know enough about photography. I do get lucky once in a while and get a nice pic.My method has been... I hold my breath way too long to stop the hand shaking when I use macro settings. I'll look into the shutter speed and see if I can control my closeups better(too lazy for tripods). All this breathholding is giving me headaches and dizzy spells.

Well, don't hold your breath...too long. the trick is to take a couple of deep breaths and then exhale and snap the pic. I use my camera in completely manual mode...absolutely no auto settings, 'cause that's how I learned way back when using a manual Nikon 35mm print film camera.

Great looking Paphs - and really nice photos. You know, when I was on the rifle team in High School, they taught us the same breathing technique to steady our hand before firing a shot... good to know it works for shooting photos as well! LOL!

Really impressed with your lowii - its such a beautiful species.
