Oh, yes, Kim, there are so many I am a complete faillure. There's, for just an example, Cattleya dowiana aurea (or just Cattleya aurea now)... I've been with this species for years without success. So I decided to acquire a compot and start with them from the very beginning. I have now several dowianas (sort of 20 plants more or less) 15 cm high... So far, so good. From this point to the flower is where the challenge is. Let's see what happens.

Mauro, It's very encouraging to know that it is possible to resurrect plants when they look as though they're done for! For most of us, I think, it can be a very discouraging prospect! Well done!

I totally know what you mean, Shirley! For most of us it is easier to say 'It's done for this one!" and go get another one than trying to cure. I know that sometimes the plant is decided to die, no matter what we try to save it, but I think we should try keeping it alive even when the chances are tiny. After all, an orchid is a living being and deserves our efforts. They fully depend on us when we decide to bring them home.
