What's the right light for Paph. haynaldianum

Do I really need to go up to Cattleya light to get Paph. haynaldianum to bloom or can I get away with lower light?

I have a growing section with Polychilos Phalaenopsis that I keep really warm and brighter than "regular" Phals, more like Oncidinae, which I think could make haynaldianum happy, but reports from growers complaining about it being super slow to grow are a concern!

Haynaldianum would be fine in your polychilos-phal light level.

The Baker guide says they can adapt to brighter light, but it should be diffused. but that the flowers hold their color better when shadier.

Growth rate and light level do not go hand-in-hand.

That's very helpful! I'll leave it where it is, it's a fairly big plant so it will be getting more light than the Phals anyway (closer to the lights).

I'm still figuring out which plants give better blooms in lower-than-recommended light. Some definitely seem to have bigger, deeper color flowers when receiving less than ideal light. The advice I keep reading on multifloral Paphs is to up, up, up the light, but this one might be one of those exceptions to the rule!
