Paph lowii root rot
Hi there. My paph lowii I got a week ago from Ecuagenera has root rot. It is squishy and is liquefied. How should I go about growing these roots back? The media was orchiata 50%, pummis 45%, and calcium 5%. Thanks for your help!!!!

It may be too late for that plant, but I would immerse it in a Kelpak solution (1 TBSP/gal) for several hours and then keep it watered with it, while keeping it warm, very humid, and shady.

I had good luck doing what Ray suggests with a Paph in a slightly better state.
After soaking in a kelpak solution I potted it up, watered it and stuck it in a plastic tent on a tray of moist leca pebbles, and stuck the tent near a window but with zero direct light.
Humidity in the tent was always above 85%, so I only had to water every 6-8 weeks or so. After 2-3 months there were some nice new roots starting, and after 6 months it had a brand new root system.

So I potted it back up. I will soak it in a kelp root solution and then put it in a large plastic bag. Should this be put on a heat mat or get air to it once in a while? Thanks so much Also reduced light ?

maybe i missed something, but if the roots came to you that way i should think some recourse for reimbursement or exchange could be in order. those roots didn’t die in a week, meaning they probly came to you that way. perhaps you don’t want to deal with that whole thing. or perhaps i am misunderstanding, but that is not right if the roots are as bad as they seem and you describe.
can’t believe nobody else mentioned trying to get a new plant or a refund. seems like that vendor is very hit or miss....

I agree… Ecuagenera isn’t known for its customer service, but if I received that, I’d be asking if a replacement was available.

Good customer service has been my experience. Regardless, the condition of the plant warrants, in my opinion, a replacement.
