My first Paph is blooming
I bought my first Paph, a Maudiae Type, from Hausermann as a blooming size that arrived Oct 7 with a bud.
The first pic is how looked when arrived.
Now is in bloom and I couldn't be happier.

Thank You Tmoney.
So far the care has been easy.
Water every other day and give Phal light.
I was a little worried because it arrive on a hot day but the bud was fine and is now displayed on my kitchen table.
The hybrid is: Hsingying Web X (Shin-Yi Heart X Chou-Yi Citron)

Nice. Think of the accomplishment you'll feel when the 2nd (totally in your control) bud opens in a subsequent season.
I have ordered many genera from Olympic Orchids and gotten well established seedlings or mericlones. When they flower, I know it's because of my culture, rather than the culture of the vendor that produced the inflorescence. Though there is something in unpacking a plant and seeing an inflorescence and knowing exactly what you have (color/form) versus waiting a couple or three years to know. And that would be especially true of a maudie type.

It's a very nice flower and congradulations on your first bloom. I do want to say, though, that unless the temps are very high, the humidity very low, or the potting mix very coarse, that a watering regimen of every other day seems excessive.

My plant is in plastic pot with large bark and sphag on top. ( didn't repot when arrived from Hausermann)
I was checking the sphag and when it became dry and lightly crusty I ran water through for for a minute and 1\4 tsp of Jacks 20-20-20 per gallon of water and splash it on after the water.
In the orchid room the temps are 84 F day and 70 F at night but now is on kitchen table so more like 72 day and 65 night.
I just added a humidifier so 65% in orchid room and 50% ish rest of house.
I am interested in your recommendations.

Many Paphs tolerate those temperatures just fine, especially the multiflorals. I've had no trouble at higher temperatures with maudiae hybrids, multiflorals, sequentials and sukhakulii types.

The orchid room has a Aluminium table with a heat lamp under it and a towel on the surface.
The Therm Pro thermometer shows it is at 84 F day and 72 night.
I have my Oncidium/DenPhal/Catts and coffee plant on it.
This is the first time I have warmed the room and just seeing how it goes.
I was fussing with the Paph and wanted it warm while growing the bloom so put it behind the coffee plant.
I will find a place amognst the Phals for the Paph when the blooming ends.
The room is cooler and my Phals are 4 foot away where their thoughts are turning to spiking.
