Got this off the clearance rack at Emerald City Orchids' Mother's Day sale. Has 6 fans of leaves but as you can see, quite washed out. Since I can't testify to what conditions it was in recently, my thinking is establish a baseline watering pattern 2x a week (until it warms up) and fertilize, use the grow lights, and see what happens. But I am curious if someone here recognizes this and can cut to the chase!

The first thing that I'd think of is that the light level was on the high side... these really like low light. It could be a magnesium deficiency, but the plant looks so healthy that I would doubt that it was actually deficient. Changing one variable at a time makes it easier to evaluate... I'd start with a lot less light. Less than what you'd give a Phalaenopsis. I think that you got a great catch!

Like Roberta, too much light or a mineral deficiency were the first two things that came to mind.

Really nice find! Agree, get less light on it.
