Paph finally bloomed again!
I've had this Paph for at least 5 years, likely more. It bloomed one year, and nothing again. It would get some growth, but that was it.
Early this year I decided to experiment with it. I divided 2 sections, with 2 growths each. One went into semi-hydroponic media, the other into fine medium, with a twist. I've always heard that they like to be on the damp side, so I went to town. I put it in terracotta, and then rest the pot in about 1/2" of water. It's so brutally dry here, I figured it wouldn't hurt.
Well, it really liked that. Healthy new growth, and finally bloomed again! Interestingly, the one in S/H has growth, but no bloom so far.

Paphs really detest going dry. I grow mine in spagnum (with a little bark) and only in plastic pots to delay drying out.

In my dry climate they do best in semihydroponics.
