I don't think so. I believe that flower spikes for these orchids originate from the apex of the old growths. You should see it emerge from the center of the top leaves. Terminal growths.
Correct me if I am wrong, that's the way Paphs do it.

I was at Ray's today picking up a few things, and since it was his plant I figured he'd know, and he did. That's actually a section of rhizome, so it would appear I have a new growth.
