I don't think so. I believe that flower spikes for these orchids originate from the apex of the old growths. You should see it emerge from the center of the top leaves. Terminal growths.

Correct me if I am wrong, that's the way Paphs do it.

I agree with Tindomul. they come from the centre, much like a Paph. It is likely a new growth. Which is good too!

Well, it sure looks like it, but that is strange. Unless some species bloom that way, but nothing that I have does. Keep us posted.

I was at Ray's today picking up a few things, and since it was his plant I figured he'd know, and he did. That's actually a section of rhizome, so it would appear I have a new growth.
