Phrags and wet feet
Default

I'm not sure that it's actually a grande. I'll post another when it opens. Does anyone know if it is supposed to open with long petals or if they grow/lengthen after the flower opens?

Okay, my panic is starting to subside as I found some talk about the petals continuing to grow after the bloom opens. Earlier today I discovered that a species plant I bought at a different orchid show (phal Bellina v. alba) is most likely not what I was told I was purchasing so I went into panic mode when I saw this open without long petals. The only reason I bought it was because it had long petals.

I took most of the advice here and I am giving it wet feet in an open saucer using RO water only and it seems to be happy. There is another bloom forming I believe.

Even if it turns out this isn't a real Grande I will still love it the same. I will just call and raise heck with the grower as well
