Phragmipedium Fedora Brochu (lindleyanum x Stenophyllum)
This is a pretty interesting cross, seeing that it's a Phrag. schlimii hybrid with almost none of the trademark schlimii hybrid characteristics. At first glance, this one might seem to be just another greenie, but the richness and brightness of the golden earthy tones along with those petals makes it stand out more than something like longifolium.
This is a fairly small plant that I originally bought thinking it would stay small. At the time it was multi growth and blooming, so I thought it would stay that size. Nope. Its growths are probably twice as large now, I hesitate to call it a small grower.
It has produced 2 spikes this round. The first spike is unbranched. The second spike has 2 branches. Lots of potential for having a mass of flowers open all at once, if only for a day or two at a time.
