Phrag. Nicholle Tower Two Spikes
After waiting for two very long years, the two new growths on my Phrag. Nicholle Tower (Phrag. longifolium 'Black as Night' x Phrag. d'alessandroi) are mature. I finally see two spikes peeking out of the foliage.
I think I only got 2 or 3 flowers from the prior growth, which was the plant's first bloom from seedling. I'm interested to see if I get any branches from this flowering.

You are in luck! That particular cross using P. longifolium 'Black As Night' has been one of the very best new deep red besseae hybrids.
Deep colors, lots of flowers, branching spikes and like it's close cousin P. Eric Young, it's typically quite vigorous.
I hope someone has already crossed this back to P. dalesandroi.

Just wanted to give a quick update.
Both spikes are growing, and I can see lots of healthy root tips in the pot.
I took this little guy home from my office since they turn the a/c off nights and weekends and I didn't want to stress it out.
I'll post more pictures soon

That's beautiful! I really like Nicholle Tower because it usually stays in bloom for a long time. Mine is a paler color than yours. I really like the color on yours. Good growing.

Cool, yours has more yellow than mine, I think. Also looks like a bigger plant!
