Default Cyp. Anna

Cyp. Anna (Cyp. parviflorum var. parviflorum x Cyp. macranthos var. hotei-atsumorianum). Thank goodness it was registered with a nice short name like Cyp. Anna! I got this as a single dormant growth in fall of 2013. I planted it in a flower bed in my back yard and mulched with leaves to get ready for winter where we can get days of -40. It grew a single growth last year but didn't bloom. This year it is two growths with 1 bloom. I hope it continues to multiply and do well.

Aww, you staked it!

We must have similar tastes because I just bought one of these this spring. One growth, no bloom this year, same as you! Looking forward to a bloom next year then!

Yes, it seemed flopped over and it has been windy here, so I staked it

I hope yours blooms next year. Yours will have a much milder winter to contend with so it should!

Thanks

I might get myself another hybrid some time too. Trouble is my flower beds are quite well established with perennials and then just space for some colourful annuals each year. So I need to find a spot. Some lilies are threating to crowd this one out already.

The Frosch website does mention these can be pot grown, but do I need another pot to add to the collection. I think it would still have to be chilled and go dormant for winter.

Thanks Sonya and Paphluvr. It is still looking nice so that's not bad for an outdoor slipper.
