Can't believe anyone hasn't said these are on a critters menu! You all are having great results and thanks for sharing...not the average garden plant,at least not in my parts!

What a beauty!

Hi silken, what does your Anna look like now that it's August?

I ask because it's been hot and a bit dryer here the past couple of weeks and mine literally looks burnt to a crisp even though it's in the shade. Only the main stem still looks somewhat 'alive'...I should probably have been watering it every day...

DeaC and CambriaWhat, my plant looks almost exactly the same as the photos only the smaller shoot has maybe grown a bit more and of course minus the bloom. It's in a flower bed in my back yard where we actually do have some problem with gophers and voles. But it is just in perfect condition. I have a small plant of the regular yellow lady slipper as well which hasn't bloomed yet, maybe next year and it looks fine but hasn't grown much since it grew earlier this summer. We have had terrible drought here and lots of crops failed, but I have been able to keep my yard watered so it didn't affect them.

Where do you purchase Hardy Cyps for gardens?

silken 08-06-2015 06:04 PM

We have a guy in Edmonton that sells them. But I think he gets them from a place in the U.S. that specializes in new crosses. Hmm, can't think of the name but I wonder if they would be the ones who registered this hybrid. If so I will find it on OrchidWiz when I have a chance. Or just Google Cyp. Anna and I know I did find them once that way.

I looked in OrchidWiz and it is Frosch Ltd. Frosch® Exclusive Perennials - Hardy Lady's Slipper hybrids but I guess they are from Germany. However, you could contact them and see who are vendors in North America. Or I can give you the Canadian guy's name and maybe he sells to the U.S.
