finally phrag kovachii hybrid!!!
I finally became a member of our local orchid society after years of wanting to join. And how can I be so lucky that the month I joined a member of the society is moving to cananda(wish that could be me),and selling all his plants and with my bad luck the last few days he is selling phrag Frits Schomburg, and a pure kovachii but it goes for R1700 way out of my budget. Besides I was looking for a besseae anyway. The person selling him has an oped day next week at his house in sandton where he will sell all his plants. He also has Jason Fisher and some strange cross. Can't wait till next week.
Any culture information for Frits Schomburg would be appreciated.

Nice find. To bad you can't get the kovachii but it is out of my budget as well.

I just bought a Fritz Schomburg from Ecuagenera in March. It was in spike. I had a bloom and there is another bud growing. The 2nd bud got knocked off before it opened. My first bud was 9.5 cm wide and a deep red. Orchid Wiz shows average awarded blooms just over 11 cm. wide. The plant is about the same size as most of my Phrags, although only one growth at the moment. Maybe a foot or 16 inches tall at most in its pot.
