Phragmipedium Belle Hogue Point
Phragmipedium Belle Hogue Point (Eric Young 'Rocket Fire' 4N x caudatum v. sanderae)
This is not my favorite of these types of crosses, but it's a hybrid that brings back a lot of fond memories, so I'll keep it. The flowers are nice and big, and while I find the color to be on the bland side, it is at least pleasant.
I prefer to let flower spikes go au naturale, but this one demands to be staked, otherwise the bloom turns face down and pouts.

Thanks for the positive words!
The second flower is about to open on this, and the first bloom has had some time to grow, so I thought I'd post a couple more photos. I think it's nicer now with a little age, and it's definitely larger with longer petals.

They're still floating around out there at various places, though I'm not sure where to suggest if you're looking now. They were really common in the mid 2000's, I'm guessing the hybrid was relatively new then?

It went on my wish list. Dear hubby is going to kill me. I'm working on 2 different orders right now. And of course you do know that you can't just order 1 orchid from a vendor, as they need some traveling companions.
I need to stop getting on this sight.
