Phragmipedium Seymour Tower
Phragmipedium dalessandroi x schlimii
This is a new acquisition for me, picked it up from fellow OBer, Bethmarie. I've had Hanne Popow on my wishlist for awhile, and this hybrid is a suitable substitute.
I personally wouldn't be able to distinguish the flowers on this plant from Hanne Popow. I've seen HPs that look more or less exactly the same as this. However, I have no doubts on the ID based on the fact that the spike is branching even on this first bloom plant.
The color is a difficult one for my point-n-shoot camera to capture. It's a delicate pink with bicolor petals. The fragrance is really wonderful and at the right time of day, it's as strong as any schlimii.

The color break looks very distinct on the petals, I like it.

I agree. I like the bicolor petals in some phrag hybrids.

Beautiful! Great balance of colors and IMO nicer than the deeper-colored ones I've seen, most of which feel a little garish to my eyes. I look forward to seeing the show this puts on in a few years' time.

Very pretty!
This is a pretty flower. I recently visited the Grand Valley Orchid Show and saw two of these they were both different...

We need a WANT button in addition to the "like" thing. This is just too beautiful. I'm really tempted to start mounting plants... I'm long past out of floor space.
