Unhappy Bought my 1st flask today.

Had a society meeting today and William Goldner from woodstream orchids was there. I bought a flask of Paphiopedilum wardii from him. I was overexcited for all the wrong reasons. I have been searching everywhere for Cypripedium wardii and one of the few places that has this plant in the USA is the sandiego zoo. Well the paph. wardii was labeled (San diego zoo X sib.) I got home and googles the P. wardii to my dismay that it wasn't the C. wardii I wanted! None the less, this is my 1st paph so I'll compot the 10 babies when they're ready and probably give most of them away! Don't ya just hate it when the names are so similar and you get the wrong one!!!http://www.orchidboard.com/community...milies/cry.gif

I'm sorry that you grabbed the wrong flask. It was an honest mistake though. If you need to "dispose" of one I might be interested.... How much was the flask, by the way?

So you were wanting paph wardii Summerhayes? The one in the picture is gorgeous!

Have you been able to find a picture of the cross you bought? Maybe it's beautiful, as well?

At any rate, I bet you enjoy them...they're your first babies!

Ely the flask went for $20 with 10 plants in it. Not to bad.
DebsC, I want to get Cypripedium Wardii. I don't think it is even for sale in the US yet. I saw wardii and just jumped on it...
Everyone in my society said I needed a paph anyways so I'm going to keep 5 and donate the others to everyone who has given me a plant. I promised 2 plants to our orchid conservatory too.
