I'm green! How do you get it to bloom on a single growth! All my phrags need at least a third growth before I get a bloom. Mine is almost as big as yours but literally, mine will not flower for another 2-3 years at least, based on my past experiences. I must say its stunning!

Culture:
My pk hybrids are going under T-5 lights in a hydroponic growing unit. They are growing in a mix of small Coconut husk chips, #2 diatomite, #3 perlite, fine charcoal, and 10% oyster shell. The nutrient solution is kept between 7.2 - 7.4 ph. The are growing in a basement with a constant temperature in the upper 60's F.
My pk species seedlings are growing much slower than the hybrids.

That's a real beauty, Joe. Congrats.
What do you mean by "pk" species, please?

Sorry for using 'pk' - the correct name is phrag. kovachii which is the species name. Many people are using the initials as shorthand, thus 'pk'. A limited number of hybrids have been made - piping rock offers 4 and the hybrids are growing much faster than the species.

That is a real beauty. I love the color. My hybrids don't look like they will bloom for a long time yet.

The flower is now a week and a half old and a second bud is developing rapidly.
