I would start with Phragmipedium pearcei. It is small, easy growing and readily available here for a reasonable price.

Pearcei is a small plant but spreads very quickly. Maybe pearcei x schlimii would suite your set-up better.They like the moistness whereas straight pearcei likes it wet.

Not a clue, in fact have been thinking of just settling for Paphs instead.
