I grow mine in semi-hydro and water with rain water with 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon MSU type fertilizer at every watering. After almost loosing them in a bark sphag mix, I moved them to S/H as a last resort. The plants recovered and produced flowers within a year and after 2 years, are so full of roots I have to water every other day because the reservoir gets used up.

Cheers.
Jim

I grow my phrag species that I have in sort of semi-hydro... There are in plastic pots with LECA and about an inch of sphagnum on the top. My Phrag. pearcei has been in bloom for almost a year now. They sit in about 1-2 inches of water, although sometimes my pearcei sits in 5-6 inches of water, it is a water hog and will not rot. You HAVE to use pure water though, don't grow phrags unless you'll use pure water.
