Is this rot? Male
Default Is this rot?

I'm looking to buy this orchid on ebay. It is a phrag. grande. Unfortunately this is happening on the crown of the plant. Is it rot? (thankfully the seller is honest and posted this picture too).

Thanks!

That's a red flag right there, if it were me I would not purchase this plant. Bruising or not, why start off at a disadvantage.

Woh! Do not get it!
I was given an oncidium with 2 psbs.
1 psb had a spot that looked something like this - kind of wet, kind of brown.

2 days later, this psb rotted. Thank goodness the other psb wasn't affected.

Would have been Ok . The leaf needed removing by pulling downwards and then a dusting of yellow sulphur or such like applied.

I wouldn't buy it. I've had bad luck buying orchids from ebay. Even from reputable sellers. Don't chance it just to save a buck. You might end up wasting your money.
