Did someone mention "go hunting"???
I hope people do not take wild plants.
Let's leave them where they are and appreciate them.
I enjoyed the pictures. They are a lot smaller than I thought! but fragrant! wow~
Thank you for sharing.

Yes Mr. orchid man, I agree but I do think we do need to preserve these so they do not go extinct.
I just love to go and look at mushrooms in the Mountains, I would love to see an orchid.

Unless it is an endangered species, I think "preserve" is an excuse to take them.

I agree w/ NYCorchidman. Unless you are with the EPA or something. There are some funny laws here though. Like you can basically do anything to these orchids if on private land, if on public land , don't mess with them. I know a farmer who was going to mow his field that had these. I asked if I could go in and grab just 1 green pod. I then sent it into Troy Meyers and it was successful.

Yeah, I know. but I don't really care about the laws. It is the mind of individual person that respect living things.
Anyways, I'm glad you got to take some pods which turned out good.
Gosh, if that man was going to mow the orchids down, then I would take the entire plant out of there. hahaha just kidding.

Man couldn't he mow around them? Goodness I'm a good old fashion red neck country girl, the type one always thinks doesn't care for the environment....however we do. That just makes me sick.

When I was a kid my grandmother and her friends always wanted me to mow for them, because I'd mow around all their special plants (and knew what they were without being told). They also wanted me to weed for them. Unfortunately, this was in SE Texas, and it was so miserable and hot I hated doing it (especially since most of the weeds were Bermuda grass), even though I always loved plants and gardening. I think if I was that farmer I'd mow around them at least until the plants went brown.
