Default Phragmipedium Cape Sunset (3N) (Eric Young (4N) x schlimii)

So I purchased a Phragmipedium Cape Sunset (3N) (Eric Young (4N) x schlimii) from Larry's orchids. On they're site under care instructions it states that certain types of phrags do well in an inch of water. Does anyone know if this particular hybrid is one of them? Also, do phrags do well in semi hydro? Thanks!

I grow them all types of ways. you have to find out what will work for your conditions.
I have about 25 in semi-hydroponics and they love it.

I have one in s/h in lava rock and it really loves it. I'm not sure if your particular hybrid would do well sitting in water. I know that some like to have their roots dangling in streams, but not all. I think all would do well in s/h, though. They are so easy to care for this way.

Thanks, I think I'll try s/h then. On another note, does anyone know why they're so expensive? I paid $50 for mine.

I have an Eric Young and I keep in in a saucer that's topped up with water. Not quite an inch, but more like 'wet feet'. It seems really happy this way.

Post pics, we want to see.
